Blanco Renaissance Museum located in the artist's home was opened in 1998. Moreover, it's an ancient castle, which was built in 1538.
Antonio Blancо was a Balinese painter of Catalan origin. In his day, after long wanderings, he came to Bali and stayed here for life. The king gave him a plot of land for the house and the studio at the confluence of two sacred rivers, where Antonio Blank created another piece of art.
The Museum was opened shortly after the death of the artist. However, the decision to make a museum at his home and transfer it as a gift to the Balinese was taken by the artist a year before his death. The outrageous artist was called the Dali of Bali, although the style of his work differs. The main building of the Museum is the artist's house. Three floors of the house correspond to three worlds of Buddhism. The paintings here are also represented in accordance with this principle, all is preserved exactly as it had been during the life of the master. The frames of the paintings impress not less than the paintings themselves. They are completely unique and exclusively match the plot of the paintings.
There is a huge avant-garde building at the entrance to the house, which is an enlarged artist's signature. In the Museum, you can photograph everything except paintings. The Museum exposition is amazing. You can spend hours wandering through this historic castle. It is sad that there is a break in the work of the Museum from 12:45 to 14:00. Therefore, it is best to come here by 2 o`clock.
There is a park near the castle, where you can walk or have a picnic on a bench. There is also a cafe-restaurant inside the Museum.
