Jumeirah Mosque Tourist Attraction

Jumeirah Mosque

Jumeirah Mosque was built in 1979 on the initiative of Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum in one of the most elite areas of Dubai, in the beginning of the street Jumeirah Beach Road. Residents are proud of this place and consider it one of the most beautiful attractions in the UAE. The latest technology is used for the erection. The architects had a difficult task – to build an exact copy of the mosque that had been located previously in the same place and had been destroyed in 1960. The building is designed in the best Muslim traditions of the country; pink sandstone was used for its creation. Jumeirah Mosque matches the style of the buildings of Cairo of the 14the and 15the centuries, with the presence of decorative solutions used during the reign of the dynasty of the Fatimid caliphs and the Mameluke sultans. The Mosque impresses by the grandeur of its white walls, huge central dome and two tall minarets that can be seen, even if you are in another part of the city. Jumeirah mosque can be called one of the most beautiful mosques of Dubai. It looks especially beautiful, when its façade is illuminated with decorative lighting. In accordance with the laws of the Koran, decorations in form of human or animal images are not allowed inside the mosque. Therefore, the walls are decorated by incredibly beautiful ornament and elegant Arabic letters. Floors are covered with a big one-piece carpet, which is embroidered with intricate floral patterns. By order of Sheikh Mohammed, everyone can get to the Jumeirah Mosque. This was done in order to expand religious views among different peoples and to help visitors to get acquainted with the basic canons of the Islamic religion. For this purpose, under guidance of local guides, a group tour is organized. It focuses on prayers, their meaning and how Muslims turn to Allah. The excursion lasts about 75 minutes.
