El Badi Palace Tourist Attraction

El Badi Palace

The El Badi Palace is the most famous building in Marrakesh. It has a long history. It was damaged by war. In 1578 began the construction of one of the most beautiful palaces. Today there are only ruins on its place. But the El Badi Palace is one of the popular tourist attractions in Marrakesh. If you come here, you will see not only ruins but also various descriptions and layout of the palace. It will be interesting! You can partly just imagine this place to visit. Why the El Badi Palace was built? It was in time when Ahmad al-Mansur was the sultan of Morocco. When the Battle of Three Kings was won, it was decided to build a palace in celebration of this event. The construction was continued twenty-five years. So much time to build and twelve years need Alaouite Sultan Mawlay Ismail to destroy this historical building. It was not so easy to do it. Once the El Badi Palace had there hundred and sixty rooms. On the territory of the palace were the courtyard with its pools and gardens, fountains. All of this doesn’t exist anymore. But you still have the opportunity to see the little cave under the El Badi Palace. Don’t miss the great chance to discover last pieces of the old disappearing palace in Marrakesh.
