Niagara Falls is considered to be one of the most sought after tourist attractions of the world. Referring to the group of three waterfalls that extend over the international border between the U.S. state of New York and the Canadian province of Ontario, Niagara Falls is located at the southern tip of the Niagara Gorge. All three small and large waterfalls which are collectively named as Niagara Falls are the Horseshoe Falls, the Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls.
Divided by Goat Island, the Horseshoe Falls are located on the Canadian side and the American Falls are on the American side. Bridal Veil Falls also lie on the American side, alienated from the other waterfalls by Luna Island. In the year 1819, the international boundary line was initially created through Horseshoe Falls. However, due to natural corrosion and construction, the boundary has become an issue of constant dispute.
A tourist should visit Niagara Falls during summertime as this sightseeing spot is both daytime and evening attraction. The main attraction at this spot is the Maid of the Mist boat cruise. The cruise boats are available on both sides of the falls. Other than this, observation towers, hiking opportunities, helicopter and helium balloon rides are also available here.
